URLbib: simpler, faster, easier bibliographies for LaTeX
Introduction

Introduction

Are you writing scientific papers in LaTeX? Would you like to spend less time collecting bibliography entries? Would you like your own papers to be easier for other scientists to cite, and easier for search engines to index?

The core idea of URLbib is that you only have to maintain bibliography entries for your own papers. For each new paper you write, you put a short machine-readable bibliography entry online, such as https://cr.yp.to/bib/2005/bernstein-poly1305.bibtex. Another author who wants to cite this paper simply types

     \urlbib{poly1305}{https://cr.yp.to/bib/2005/bernstein-poly1305.bibtex}
(choosing his own short name for your paper) and then \cite{poly1305}.

URLbib is a new project. Software is not available yet.
